Note: The serial numbers for the DocuPrint products are listed on two separate labels on the printer. The top label indicates the prefix, which denotes the product model (so KY5 will always be a N2825 unless the firmware is changed and then it will have a new prefix). The number on the lower label completes the serial number. BOTH numbers together are required to make the complete serial number.

TIP: There will be no I (the letter I) or O (the letter O) in the serial numbers. This is to avoid confusion with the numbers 1 and 0 (zero)

Phaser 8200 Printer

All serial numbers start with a L. They are a combination of alpha numeric characters. The serial number for the printer(s) and are a combination of 10 alpa numeric characters. The serial number for the printer is located behind the front door on the metal frame on the left. Serial Number Location (Opens a new window 21.0KB)

Phaser 7700 Printer

All serial numbers start with a J and are a combination of 10 alpa numeric characters. The serial number (24 K) for the printer is located behind the front door on the left side of the printer.

Phaser 7300 Printer

Serial numbers start with LPL, LPM, SEQ or Jand are a combination of 9 and 10 alpa numeric characters. The serial number (11.9KB) is located under the top cover at the back of the machine near the fuser.

Phaser 6200 Printer

All serial numbers start with a L and are a combination of 9 alpha numeric characters. To view the serial number (23.5KB) open door A. The serial number is located inside the printer on the right side of the frame.

Phaser 5400 Printer

The serial number is located on the left side frame (19.6KB) just inside the MBF door.

Phaser 4400 Printer

All serial numbers start with a LDT or LDU and are a combination of alpha numeric characters. The serial number (8.9KB) and prefix label can be found inside the back door on the bottom right.

Phaser 2135 Printer

Lift the top cover. Look to left-rear, behind the fuser (19.8KB) for the serial number label. It may be easier to read from behind the printer.

Phaser 1235 Printer

All serial numbers are located inside front door B, on the right side of the metal frame. Serial Number Location (Opens a new window 18.0KB)

DocuPrint N2025 Printer

Serial number prefixes begin with KY0. The serial number (Serial Number Location Opens a new window 10.1KB) and prefix label can be found inside the Manual Bypass Feeder. (Opens a new window 12.4.0KB) See note above for label details.

DocuPrint N2125 Printer

Serial number (Serial Number Location Opens a new window 15.0KB) prefixes for the N2125 begin with LE9. Prefixes for the N2125b begin with LM5. The serial number and prefix label can be found inside the back door on the bottom right. (Opens a new window 13.6.0KB) See note above for label details.

DocuPrint N2825 Printer

Phaser 3400 Printer

The Phaser 3400 serial number tag is located inside the printer. Open the top cover and look on the left side of the frame. (17.6KB)

DocuPrint N24/N32/N3225 Printer

Serial number prefixes begin with PG1 for the N3225. PG2 is the prefix for the N3225HD.
Possible N32 prefix numbers are: N32 Laser - 310, P4P, N32 HD - Y2U, N32 Harddrive - P5P, N32Base - Y3U
Possible N24 prefix numbers: N24 Base - Y1U, N24 Harddrive - V3W, N24 HD - Y4U, N24 Laser - R5E. You need to open the right side door (Opens a new window 16.0KB) to get to it. See note above for label details.

DocuPrint N40/N4025 Printer

Serial number prefixes begin with PF4 for the N4025. PF5 is the prefix for the N4025HD. Possible N40 prefix numbers are: N40HD - W7F, N40 - W8F. You need to open the right side door (Opens a new window 16.0KB) to get to it. See note above for label details.

DocuPrint N4525 Printer

To locate the serial number (20KB) open the front cover and hold it open at a 45 degree angle. Locate the right side hinge. The serial number is on a silver and black label immediately to the left of the right hinge. Serial number prefixes begin with WN5 if 110 volt, WN8 if 220 volt, WP0 if printer was ordered with a duplexer, and high capacity feeder. An example serial number is WN8000674.

DocuPrint C55/NC60 Printer

Serial number prefixes begin with D3V for the C55MP and D1V for the C55. CR0 is the prefix for the NC60. The serial number (Serial Number Location Opens a new window 18.5KB) and prefix label can be found under the top rear cover.

XPrint 4900/4915/4920/4925 Printers

Serial number prefixes: 4900 - 6HU, 4915 - 1WW, 4920 - 7UM, 4925 - 1UM. The serial number (Serial Number Location Opens a new window 23.5KB) and prefix label can be found at the back of the printer at the bottom behind the rear cover (Rear Cover Location Opens a new window 22.3KB) and to the right (when viewed from the rear) of the rear paper guide. DocuPrint 4505/4510 Printers

Serial number prefixes begin with 1FT for the 4505, OHW for the 4505PS, 3FT for the 4510 and 2HW for the 4510PS. The serial number (Serial Number Location Opens a new window 24.6KB) and prefix label can be found in the back of the printer.

DocuPrint 4508 Printer

Serial number prefix begin with C0F for the 4508. The serial number (Serial Number Location Opens a new window 20.2KB) and prefix label can be found under the front cover, in front and to the left of the print cartridge.

DocuPrint 4512 Printer

Serial number prefix begin with F5T for the 4512 and G6G for the 4512N. The serial number (Serial Number Location Opens a new window 19KB) and prefix label can be found by opening the front cover and print drum cover. The serial number is on the left side.

DocuPrint N17/4517 Printers

Possible serial prefix numbers for the 4517 are: 4517 - 6WK, M0G and M5F, 4517Plus - M6E, 4517MP - 2WL, 4517MP Plus - M3F. Serial prefix numbers for the N17 are: N17N - W4G, N17B - W9G. The serial number (Serial Number Location Opens a new window 21.4KB) and prefix label can be found by opening the the front cover and looking on the inside of the right side cover.

DocuPrint 4520 Printer

Serial number prefix begin with 0FG for the 4520 and 4HW for the 4520MP. The serial number (Serial Number Location Opens a new window 23.5KB) and prefix label can be found on the top cover edge when opened, above the print cartridge.

Phaser 850 Printer (Z850)

All serial numbers start with a B or M and are located under the printer's top cover. Serial Number Location (Opens a new window 25.0KB)

Phaser 840 Printer (Z840)

All serial numbers start with a B or M and are located under the printer's top cover. The Phaser 840 Designer Edition serial number is located on the metal crossbrace under the blue exit guide inside the exit cover. Serial Number Location (Opens a new window 16.0KB)

Phaser 790 Printers

All serial numbers begin with V and can be viewed when Tray 1 is opened. It is located on the metal frame ( 18 KB Photo) towards the right side of Tray 1.

DocuColor 2006 Printers

All Office Printing Business (OPB) sold 110V printer serial numbers begin with J and can be viewed when the Fuser Assembly Tray is opened, by sliding it fully out on its rails until it stops. The serial number is located on the rear metal frame (29.3KB) just in front of the power switch.

All North American Solutions Group (NASG) sold 110V printer serial numbers begin with VF8 and can be viewed in the same location as the OPB printers, by the Fuser Assembly Tray and by the front/right side of the printer frame, behind Tray 1. (20KB)
Please note that the NASG serial numbers are the same in both locations.

All 220V OPB printer serial numbers are located on the front/right side of the printer frame, behind Tray 1. (20KB)
There should be no DocuColor 2006 220V NASG sold printers.

Phaser 780 Printers (Z780)
